These metrics may seem relatively low when looking at our Training Plans compared to some online recommendations. Why is that?
The CTL score is based on a moving average of your TSS over the previous four weeks, weighted most heavily towards the previous 7 days. My plans have a recovery week every fourth week, which will skew the CTL score (making it seem lower).
Metrics like CTL are basic equations for simplifying your training data, but they do not take many variables into account. They are worthwhile for self-coached athletes, but are not intended to replace the experience of a qualified coach.
